one more just for fun
While Jay's parents were in town we all headed to Thurmond, WV which is an old railroad town. It is the closest thing to a ghost town i think I have ever seen. It had the old station which was set up as a walk through display of what it would have been like to travel through there and the old bank and city hall, all closed and not a soul living there, but it was a gorgeous day down in the gorge along the river...so here are some shots...
the above shot is of the bridge you need to cross to get to the station, very narrow and very old, it had train tracks on one side and room for a car on the other.
this was the view from the edge of the bridge taken efore we got the guts to walk out on the track side of the bridge, but what a view...
we posed for a picture, we were having a good time
just to give you an idea of what the bridge was like...definitely lots of fun...
