It is very exciting, the leaves on the tree in our backyard are starting to change...I can't believe it isn't fall yet...but it is coming, the temperature is dropping and the wind is picking up which is usually a good sign. I just hope all the leaves don't fall off before they change color...
So it has been an exciting week in our home...as i write this i can't remember if i mentioned our plumbing problem in my last blog...hmmm...to talk more about it without knowing if i've already mentioned it...I'll risk it...so last week our shower wasn't draining at all, we dumped a bottle of draino down there, and nothing...now i know it is the fault of my thin and long hair, but still the drain is clogged. So jay attempts what all men attempt, to fix the drain. Well he put the snake thing down the drain (I was sitting downstairs while this was going on) and all of a sudden i hear a lot of banging and wonder whether or not the problem upstairs is better...it turns out the snake got stuck on the part of the drain that keeps the water in if you want to take a bath...and all of a sudden the panel on the stairwell is being removed, pipes our coming out and the shower is now unusable...we get the snake unstuck and still can't get it down the drain, at which point we gave up for the night (this was after all the first day jay was feeling better after his stomach bug).
Ok it is now Friday and I am very sad i can't shower...so the plumber gets called, and says maybe we will be out today...well not a chance, and then saturday goes by and sunday and then by monday morning i'm a bit cranky, so jay calls again and he comes out (our showering practices over the weekend involved going to the gym to work out with the real motivation being the shower afterwards, but don't get me wrong we still worked out) ok so Monday the plumber comes and fixes the drain no problem...but there is still a problem...
the water smells...apparently the damn is being let out or something i don't know or they're cleaning it, but all i know is that for the past 4 days our water has smelled like pond water which is not a happy thing. So now that the shower is fixed we can't use it. we are using bottled water to brush our teeth and our trips to the gym continue until the water smells better, granted the gym is on the same line as we are but from the smell i think they must have a little better filter than we do...yuck that's all i have to say is yuck yuck yuck...i want to shower at home so bad...hopefully soon!
