So today i spent the day in jail, ok not really, but kind of. I participated in an event called the MDA lock up, which is a fundraiser for Muscular Dystrophy. Now that I am out I will tell you about the event because if i had mentioned some of the details before I know some would not have helped to get me out.
Now don't get me wrong there are so many amazing fundraisers out there for amazing causes, and there are more walks than one could count, but most of the walks are for diseases where the people with the disease could still be able to particiate. Muscular diseases usually don't give a person that same opportunity so this was a fundraiser that people with the disease could participate in.
So the fundraiser consisted of my being picked up at the church directly following staff meeting, and they "arrested me" and put me in a beautiful limo (yeah that was how they took us to jail) and after spending an hour riding backwards in a limo (i was pretty sick) they took us to the courtyard my marriot hotel and settled us into a room, where they took our mug shots, we wore black and white shirts and had handcuffs and were photographed behind a fake jail cell, and then they put us to work trying to raise the rest of our bail, people were calling everyone they have ever known and asking them for money (so if you got a call from me today and i didn't leave a message, now you know why). And they did feed us, all the local restaurants donated free food granted i would have found more to eat if it was just bread and water, but everyone else seemed really happy. And then after raising more money over the phone they let me leave and dropped me off back at church in a limo.
And that was my lock up experience, i didn't make my bail but i made a bunch of money and i know it is going to a great cause, and hopefully someday there will at least be some sort of treatment for patients suffering some of these dieases, a cure would be fabulous but i will take a treatment too.... so thanks to everyone who helped me out i appreciate it greatly...
