As i have mentioned already, December has been a crazy busy month thus far. We returned from our thanksgiving adventures to two of the busiest weeks ever. Jay has been experiencing the joy of working in retail during the christmas season, which basically means that the hours have been insane. I think it is a little silly that we have the two busiest jobs this time of the year. Crazy, others get to start to slow down and enjoy the upcoming visits with family and we are just at work the whole time.
Last week I had 11 church related meals, i think that is absurd, this week has been much better. But tonight is the staff christmas party and we are hosting, which means the house needed to be decorated and since we were away for thanksgiving and had the longest week ever last week, it has been a rush to get it done this week....
But happy to say, the tree got bought on Tuesday morning and was decorated around 10pm on Wednesday and the rest of the house got a nice new look yesterday. It was kind of fun having a new place to decorate, trying to find where things we had bought for the apartment might go. It is even more wonderful to have a real tree this year, because it means that for the first time in 5 years, I get tinsel, yippie!!! I love the way it sparkles with the lights. And I think Jay might be starting to like it as well. And since the tree is sitting right next to the vent (ok there was no where else to put it, we tried everywhere to avoid the heater) the tinsel is constantly swaying...so pretty....
We also had our first snow fall the other day, I think we got about 3 inches, it was a lovely ny kind of snow, nice and wet, it seems they get much drier snow down here usually so it was nice that the first snow of the season was a nice heavy wet snow.
Other than that things are going well. We are just trying to find time to spend together, which has been something of a challenge these past 2 weeks, but hopefully that will get a little better. Jay has two finals to take on Monday and then he is officially down with his first semester back at school, exciting times!
