what a busy weekend

Wow, we had a very busy weekend but it was a lot of fun. The weekend started Friday night (as most weekends do) with a cruise through town, what that means is that about 100 classic cars and some newer cars all done up, drove through town, which was fun to see. There was actually a Herbie car, it was a bug with all the markings of Herbie as a race car, it was so happy. But it was really fun to be able to walk from our house to the middle of town and to watch these cars drive right by us. And then they hung out in town for the evening before making their way over to the soccer fields to be greeted by 500 other cars that were there for the annual friends of coal auto fair, and basically what i can tell you about this, is that it is the closest thing to a county fair you can get. We didn't go over until Saturday night, but more on that in a moment.

So we got back from watching the cars cruise and we watched the 3rd Harry Potter movie, why you may ask, well because we read somewhere that Rowling mentioned that when she saw it she thought there would be things you might pick up after reading the 7th book that would seem like foreshadowing, so we watched it in anticipation for the book the next day. Our books were coming by mail, and when the UPS guy called at 9am to ask which wickham we lived on we got excited thinking our books were on their way, 7 hours later they arrive, that was a very stressful wait, we cheated and looked the plot up on wikipedia, it doesn't ruin the mystery for us. Anyway, we got our books cracked them open for a couple of hours, and then headed to the auto fair, because we had free tickets to go see Lonestar, i love Lonestar, and they were free tickets and we were so close and it was great, we didn't stay for the whole show because, well if you had seen the parking lots we passed (we also got VIP parking passes so we got to park like right next to the stage) and if you had seen the fact that they closed 5 lane roads and made them into parking lots, you would have left before the crowd as well. So we got home in 10 mintues, and i am sure others took 3 hours, no really, they were busing people to parking lots, it was insane!!!

Ok so we read more before bed, and then i had to preach twice on Sunday and that went well, but i was pretty beat. But we are asked to go to a lake with a couple from church, and if you know me at all, being asked to go to a mountain lake that is in a gated community is on the top of my list of things to never say no to. So we got picked up at 1 by this lovely older couple they are awesome, and we went to the lake, it was gorgeous, it is a man made lake on the top of a mountain hence the name flat top lake. It was a glorious afternoon, we sped around on a pontoon boat and got some sun, and then hung out on the dock fishing and then went out on the boat (ok i usually am not a fan of fishing, but when others will take it off the hook and make sure it goes back in the water to live life i can handle it a little better) but can i just say, i am the fishing champ. As soon as my line went in the water, out it came with a fish, there were a couple of times when i caught two while jay was trying to bring his line in...it was a little silly. But anyway, it was a beautiful day.

I went home with a beautiful migraine, and went to bed and now I am up and ready for a new week...one which will include finishing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows...
