a long overdue update

Sorry no pics this time around. The girls are doing great! Well if you count not sleeping.

Ella used to be this fabulous sleeper who would go 11 hours without a peep, and then Lily came. The most we can hope for now is 3 hours in her own bed, she then wakes up crying uncontrollably and will only sleep with a parent. Sometimes we can move her while she is still asleep and keep her asleep, but most of the time she wakes up and it would have been better to not even try. It is fairly exhausting and frustrating, especially if you consider the no nap issue, some days she will go down for 2 and half hours, the next day she doesn't sleep for a minute. We transformed her crib in to the toddler bed this past week in hopes that might help, nope. She still sits in the bed and screams, and now we added the fun part of trashing her room. So long story short, Ella is functioning on very little sleep and the poor thing is so exhausted!

Lily on the other hand is a great sleeper (most of the time) she goes down for 6 hours, wakes to eat for about 30 minutes and goes back down for 4 or so hours. She however is not a napper, she will snooze a little most days, and sometimes she will take an afternoon nap, but it is hit or miss. So really no sleep in the Tiedeck house.

Other than sleep, the girls are great! Ella loves to jump on whatever she can and then bang her head (it is slowly killing her mom). She is now a sponge, so no more non preschool tv for her, I won't even tell you what that 70s show had her saying last night. But she's brilliant and sweet and loves her sister, but really enjoys one on one time with whoever she can find.

Lily is just a sweetheart. She's a snuggler and very chill. She is just quiet and content in ways Ella never was. She doesn't like to sit yet, she just doesn't bend well. But she is reaching for things and cooing and being all sorts of cute. Her gummy smiles are just precious. And she loves her sister, even when being smothered.

Jay starts a new semester next week and that will be interesting as we continue to juggle children and one car. But it is doable, hopefully! Only 2 more semesters after this one!!!!

Well there you have it, a more complete update, I promise a picture update perhaps even today!
